IAP Bursary Application

2022 XXXIV International Congress Sydney

October 11-15, 2022

Submissions to apply for bursaries to attend IAP2022 in Sydney are closed.


Successful bursary applicants will be informed by the end of May 2022, following review of your submitted abstract by the Sydney 2022 review committee.

Applications are invited from young pathologist IAP members from underserved countries to apply for Bursaries to virtually attend the Sydney 2022 Congress.


Virtual sessions will take place 11-12 October 2022. In person meetings will take place 13 - 15 October 2022

All meetings will be recorded, and bursary applicants will be able to view all 5 days of proceedings.


To apply for an IAP Bursary,

  • Applicants should be from underserved countries

  • Applicants must be 40 years old or less than at the time of application.

  • A small number of Senior Bursaries are available on a case-by-case basis

  • Applicants must submit an abstract to the Congress via the Congress Website (https://iap2022.com/call-for-abstracts/)

  • Please state in the abstract that this is for an IAP Bursary Application.

  • Applicants will only be notified of the result of their applications following acceptance of their abstract by tprhe Congress Organizing Committee. Please note this is a SEPARATE process from the Bursary applications and must be done independently.

  • Bursary recipients MUST write a brief report to the IAP Education Committee Chair after the Congress.

  • Bursary recipients should share the educational materials of the Congress with pathologists of their home countries

  • The application deadline has been extended to midnight April 17th 2022 AEST. Successful applicants will be notified after the completion of the Abstract Review process by the organizers of Sydney IAP 2022 Congress.

Applications should consist of:

  1. A covering letter saying why you are applying

  2. A brief CV, including age, full address, email address and career status.

  3. If there is an IAP Division in your home country or region, that should be stated.

  4. Names, full addresses and email addresses of two referees

  5. Abstract ID# and Title of the Abstract submitted on the Congress website shown above.
