Updates on Lung Cancer: Morphology, Immunohistochemistry and Molecular

The program included updates on WHO classification of lung cancer, new immunohistochemistry application for diagnosis with specific emphasis on targeted therapy (ALK and ROS1) including PDL-1, and updates on old and new driver mutations and the CAP recommendations for their evaluation.
A Joint Virtual Meeting with the Austrian Division of IAP
Live and Virtual on 9th -10th April 2021.
This virtual meeting was held between the Arab Division and the Austrian Division of the IAP. This is the first time where the Austrian Division has invited a Division from outside Europe for a joint meeting. Although the original plan was made before the Covid-19 pandemic and was planned as a live event, this later has been transformed into the virtual form.
The program of the meeting was built to cover soft tissue and bone pathology with worldwide experts in this field, molecular pathology with excellent speakers, and infectious disease pathology with emphasis on COVID-19. A special slide seminar based session on infectious, granulomatous and cystic lesions was delivered by expert pathologists from the Arab Division.
A pre-congress workshop on lung Pathology was also held on Thursday 8th April 2021.

Program Overview
The purpose of the IAP-AD 2021 Congress was to offer up-to-date knowledge on contemporary topics in pathology, provide a platform for theoretical reflections and cross-cultural interchange, and encourage creative & innovative research that would ultimately enhance the understanding of pathological processes and human disease, and contribute to improved healthcare. More than 30 internationally recognized pathologists and scientists have shared their knowledge and expertise in interactive formats. About 150 members participated in the meeting virtually.
Pre-congress Workshop on Molecular pathology workshop preceded the symposium.
